About

Aims

• To promote and cultivate interest in chess
• To develop the potential of the tyro and the more experienced players
• To prepare members for inter-school competition
• To promote teamwork and foster an environment for creative thinking among members

Activities of the Club

• Members are trained by a coach in the principles of opening play, some model openings, the art of checkmate, how to win material, superior force wins: simple end-games and some instructive games.
• Inter-class competition is held to select a corp of good players to represent the school in the inter-school chess tournament
