EMAS Programme
EMAS Programme
INTRODUCTION, AIMS & VISION | Elective Malay Language Programme for Secondary Schools (EMAS) was first launched by the Ministry of Education in 2001. In 2006, Tanjong Katong Secondary School became the second EMAS centre in Singapore. This four-year programme aims to nurture language talents among students so that they can attain a high level of proficiency in the Malay language and a deeper appreciation of Malay culture, language and literature. This is so as to develop more language experts and leaders to continue the effort of enriching and enhancing Malay language in Singapore. The vision for EMAS in TKSS is ‘Melentur Pencinta Bahasa, Menggapai Keunggulan Bangsa’ which means to mould passionate learners of Malay language, and to strive for excellence, for our nation. |
